Plainswomen Fall Short Against Lamar

After coming off a win this past weekend against McCook, Northeastern was unable keep the momentum going into the Lamar game on Tuesday night.  The majority of the game was neck in neck and unfortaunately NJC couldn't come up with the win.  Northeastern will continue their regional play on the road Saturday the 22nd against Western Nebraska Community College with a 2pm tip-off time.

1st Quarter - Strong start for Northeastern.  End of 1st was 21-16 NJC.

2nd Quarter - Lamar outscored Northeastern by 9.  Halftime score was 38-34 LCC.

3rd Quarter - Lamar came out strong to start half.  Score at end of 3rd was 59-48 LCC.

4th Quarter - Plainswomen have huge 4th quarter, not enough to overcome deficit.  Final score was 71-67 LCC.

Breakdown: Consistent offense was an issue for the Plainswomen.  Found themselves down big at end of the third, fought back tough, but it wasn't enough.  Leading the Plainswomen was Filippa Goula with 20 points and a strong double-double performace again from Nailea Nicholas with 17 points and 13 rebounds.  Sophomore Dalayna Tadolini also contributed 12 points while freshman Kenzie Kraich added 5 points and 10 rebounds.  NJC ended the game with a 37.9% overall field goal performance.
