After suffering a loss in a conference game the week before, the Plainswomen shot back with a strong win against Trinidad State College on Friday night.  As Northeastern continues their conference play into February, they find themselves sitting in 3rd place in the Region.  NJC hits the road tomorrow as they play North Platte CC for the 2nd time this season.  Northeastern is looking for a revenge win as they fell in the first competition with a score of 70-51.  Game time is slated for a 4pm start.

(Game Recap 1/28) Plainswomen vs. Trinidad State College = Won 77-70

1st Quarter - Even start for both teams.  End of 1st was 18-17 NJC.

2nd Quarter - Northeastern out plays Trinidad.  Halftime score was 41-38 NJC.

3rd Quarter - NJC out scores Trinidad.  Score at end of third was 58-54 NJC.

4th Quarter - Plainswomen solidify the win.  Final score was 77-70 NJC.

Breakdown: Plainswomen were able to control the scoring in each quarter of the game.  Northeastern kept composure and never let Trinidad in the game.  Nailea Nicholas played tremendously with a double-double scoring 29 points and snagging 15 boards.  Filippa Goula also came out strong with a 23 point performance while adding 7 assists.  NJC shot 41% from the field while controlling the rebounds 55-38 and limiting their turnovers to 18, which was 7 better than the Trojans.
