Plainswomen Record 10th Loss

Northeastern made the out of state trip to play North Platte Community College for the 2nd time this season.  In what was 3 quarters of good play, only 1 quarter set back the Plainswomen enough to not be able to take the win.  NJC is right back at it with a home game against the Otero Rattlers on Thursday, February 3rd.  The game is a make-up from a previous date.  Tip off time is 6pm.

(Game Recap 2/1) Plainswomen vs. North Platte CC = Loss 57-49

1st Quarter - Strong start for Northeastern.  End of 1st was 10-6 NJC.

2nd Quarter - North Platte outscored Northeastern by 13.  Halftime score was 26-17 NPCC.

3rd Quarter - Tight battle, NJC outscored NPCC 16-15.  Score at end of 3rd was 41-33 NPCC.

4th Quarter - Both teams scored 16 in the 4th, wasn't enough for NJC.  Final score was 57-49 NPCC.

Breakdown: The game was pretty close except for the 2nd quarter which put Northeastern in to big of a deficit to make the comback.  Turnovers and foul trouble once again plagued the Plainswomen.  Filippa Goula led NJC in scoring with 20.  Nailea Nicholas struggled against NPCC as she only had 10 points, 9 boards, 7 turnovers and fouled out.  Bianca Bindzus has been helping out the Plainswomen off the bench as she scored 7 and grabbed 9 rebounds.  NJC shot fairly well as they ended the game with a 42.2 field goal percentage, but just didn't get up many shots.  North Platte put up 77 shots to NJC's 45.
