Rattlers Strike Northeastern

In their second conference matchup of the season against the Otero Rattlers, the Plainswomen knew they needed to get things rolling after their loss to Trinidad State the day prior.  Knowing that it is tough to come back after an aggressive loss as that, they had to be able to get back on the horse and play their game.

In the first half, the women were battling back and forth for field position and it was shaping up to be a great game.  It was the Rattlers who would score first to break the ice as a cross pass was not able to be cleared and was knocked in the back of the goal.  The girls knew that was not an earned goal by any means, so they wanted to get that one back.  Exchanging the ball back and forth in each other's zones, it was Otero who was able to get one more goal before the half to have the 2-0 lead.

In the second half, the Plainswomen knew how to play from behind, so it was up to them to get themselves back into the game.  There was a great look as Jaycie Dillenburg had a great shot on goal, but the keeper was able to make the save.  From there, it was apparent that the Plainswomen's legs were starting to feel the exhaustion of having two tough games back-to-back, and the Rattlers took advantage of it.  They were able to tack on two more goals before games end, as they Plainswomen fell with the 4-0 loss.

The women will be back in action on Wednesday September 13 as they travel to play the Western Nebraska Cougars.
