Plainswomen Cannot Find Antidote Against Rattlers

After being off for over a week, the Plainswomen traveled to La Junta to play against the Rattlers in Region IX conference play.  Last time these teams bet, the Rattlers would defeat the Plainswomen 4-0.  The ladies knew that playing down on Otero's home field would be a tougher task, but nevertheless they were ready to play.

In the beginning of the game, the game was shaping up to be a game, but the Rattlers would make it a 2-0 game by scoring in the 9th and 11th minute.  Those two early goals would be something that the Plainswomen would have to chip away at, but would be a much tougher task when Otero scored yet another in the 16th minute.  With the game at 3-0 and the Rattlers in the driver's seat, the Plainswomen would be able to get on the board as Sierra Hinkel would score in the 44th minute to make it a 3-1 game.

At half, the women would have some energy with Sierra Hinkel's goal, which could help them in the second half.  With the whistle sounding to begin play, the ladies were trying to get an early lead.  It worked to their disadvantage when the Rattlers pushed the ball down the field and scored to make it a 4-1 game in the 54th minute.  From there, the Plainswomen were scrambling to get a goal, and in the 68th minute, Jaycie Dillenburg was able to tack one more goal to cut their deficit to a 4-2 game.  The women were hoping that would spark something, but the Rattler defense was too strong and the Plainswomen were not able to penetrate to give themselves a chance to score, which lead to the 4-2 loss.

The ladies will have another chance at getting a conference win against the Trojans as the Plainswomen will travel to Trinidad.
