Plainswomen Shutout Trojans

The Plainswomen traveled to southern Colorado to play two conference games, with the Trinidad State Trojans being game two of the stand.  The day before against the Rattlers, the women had lost 4-2 and were looking to get the split out of the weekend.  Having lost to TSJC at home 2-0, the Plainswomen had to beat them to help their conference standings.

The game would prove nothing less than a great matchup for both teams, but it would be the Plainswomen defense and the goalkeeping skills of Katie Saunders who would be the difference makers by not allowing the Trojans to score and get the shutout.  Scoring for Northeastern would be Sierra Hinkel and Seder Thacker.  This team effort would help the Plainswomen chip away at the second place spot in Region IX divisional standings.  They are currently one win away from tying Trinidad at second, so defeating them was huge for standings.

The women will be at home on Friday October 6 as they host the Western Nebraska Cougars with game starting at 2pm.
