The Plainswomen soccer team opened Conference play against a very good Casper team on their home turf on Friday, September 9th. Coming off a weekend with a tie against Northeast CC and a win against Central Columbus, NJC was looking to capitalize against a hard team after a good team effort this past weekend. With high stakes on this game, the Plainswomen were looking to give it their best shot at defeating the Region IX champs from last season. NJC went up 1-0 late in the first half but Casper countered with a goal a few minutes later leading to a 1-1 draw going into halftime. Although NJC outshot Casper in the second half, they put one away early leading to a 1-2 loss. Next game up for NJC will be on Saturday, September 10th at 11am against Northwest at home.

(Game Recap 9/9) Plainswomen vs. Casper College = Lost 1-2

1st Goal - At minute 35, Jacqueline Escalera played a ball down the line for Leslie Serrato to run on to. Serrato was able to get a cross off that ended up beating the goalkeeper. This was Serrato's first career goal.

Casper Goal - At minute 41, Casper's Emma Goetz equalizes the score at 1 a piece with a hard shot off a cross from Grace Conner.

Casper 2nd Goal - At minute 48, Alyssa Seaich followed up on an NJC goalkeeper save to put Casper up 2-1.

Breakdown: NJC and Casper had quality scoring opportunities during the second. In the end, NJC outshot Casper 10-8.  Goalkeeper Anne van den Beitel ended the game with 4 saves.

The Plainswomen soccer team took on Northwest College on their home turf on Saturday, September 10th. Coming off of a tough loss against Casper College the day before, NJC was looking to capitalize against Northwest. The win for NJC moves the ladies to 2-4-1 on the season, and 1-1 in Region IX play. Next game up for NJC will be on Friday, September 16th at 1pm against Western Nebraska Community College at the Landers Sports Complex in Scottsbluff.

1st Goal - At minute 76, Brissa Toribio finds Yanitza Garay with a negative pass and Yanitza was able to get a hard shot on goal which beats the goalkeeper

Breakdown: NJC out shot the Trappers 14 to 2. Goalkeepers Brenna Singer and Kati Conway each ended the game with 1 save.
