NJC Women's Soccer Win Two to Finish September

(Game Recap 9/23) Plainswomen vs. Lamar Community College = Won 1-0

The Plainswomen played Lamar Community College at home on Friday, September 23rd.  Despite outshooting the Lopes 19 to 2, NJC struggled to put one away. However, in the 54th minute, Lindsey Harris dribbled down the field, cut a defender, and took a shot that deflected off a Lopes defender and beat their goalkeeper. That would be the only goal scored of the game for the Plainswomen and they move to 3-2 in Region 9 play. The Plainswomen's next game will be next Friday, September 30th, at home against Trinidad State College.

(Game Recap 9/30) Plainswomen vs. Trinidad State College = Won 3-0

The NJC Women's soccer team continued Region 9 play with a match up against Trinidad State College on Friday, September 30th. NJC controlled the game and was able to put away 3 goals to secure the win. With this win, the Plainswomen move to 4-2 in Region 9 play. Their next game will be Saturday, October 1st against Otero College at home.

NJC Goal- At minute 44, Brissa Toribio earned a free kick near the sideline. Yanitza Garay stepped up to take the kick and beat the keeper near post.

NJC Goal- At minute 70, Jacqueline Escalera sent in a corner kick that bounced around in the box, ultimately leading to an own goal.

NJC Goal- At minute 89, Jacqueline Escalera played a through ball to Nevaeh Clouse who used her speed and put the ball away into the corner for the third goal of the game.
