Northeastern Volleyball Struggles To Find Rhythm Against North Platte CC

North Platte, Neb...

After coming off of a big weekend in which the Plainswomen volleyball team swept their opponents in the Wyo-Braska Tournament, they couldn't keep the momentum going as they returned to the floor against North Platte Community College.  NJC struggled to find any rhythm and flow to what NPCC was handing them on Tuesday night.  NPCC has a strong system and in order to beat that kind of team, you must disrupt that system and make them approach the game differently.  The loss to the Knights in three sets leaves the Plainswomen with a 8-9 overall season record.  NJC returns to Region IX play on Friday, September 24th as they travel to Lamar to take on the Lopes.

(Game Recap 9/21) Plainswomen vs. North Platte CC = Loss 3-0

Set #1 - NPCC-25 NJC-23 (Loss)

Set #2 - NPCC-25 NJC-19 (Loss)

Set #3 - NPCC-26 NJC-24 (Loss)

Breakdown: Two of the three sets were very competitive with lots of back and forth play.  Northeastern struggled on the receiving ends of serves which left the Plainswomen out of system most possessions.  Mayson Fago led the way with 11 kills and 3 blocks.  Jade Feather tallied 14 digs on the defensive side.  Freshman Allie Schumacher added 18 assists in the match while Taylor Wiescamp added an additional 3 blocks.  Consistency will be the name of the game for the Plainswomen going into their game on Friday.
