The Plainswomen volleyball team has entered conference play for the season as they are nearing a month left of regular season play. Last week NJC battled Lamar Community College on Friday, September 24th in Lamar and then hosted Casper College on Saturday, September 25th. Northeastern was recovering from a 3-0 loss to North Platte Community College earlier in the week and was looking for a rebound. The Plainswomen swept Lamar in 3 sets and then lost a tough match against Casper 3-2. NJC Volleyball has an overall record of 9-10 on the season. Next matchup for the Plainswomen is against McCook Community College at home on Tuesday, September 28th at 7pm.

Breakdown: Northeastern dominated each set from the start. The system worked well against Lamar which set up sophmore Andie Anderson and freshman Allie Schumacher for a combined 36 assists. Kaytlin Smart led the Plainswomen on the offensive will 11 kills while Mayson Fago recorded 9. NJC's Jade Feather tallied 21 digs in the match of the 53 total for NJC. All players on the NJC roster got to see some playing time in the match.

Breakdown: Tough battle against a solid team on the home court. Casper came out hot and won the first two sets with NJC taking sets 3 and 4. Going into a locked match into the 5th set, Capser had the edge and won the 5th set and match for the victory. Sophmore Mayson Fago recorded another double-double for the season with 14 kills and 14 digs. NJC did tally a total of 57 kills, 52 assists and 87 digs. Four Plainswomen players recorded a minimum of 10 digs with freshman Faith Trenkle leading the way with 17.
