Another Conference Win For Plainswomen Volleyball

The Plainswomen volleyball team has started out conference play with two consecutive wins.  NJC battled McCook Community College on Tuesday, September 28th in front of their home crowd and swept the Indians 3-0 in a swift match that resulted in another win.  Tuesday's win brought the Plainswomen back to a .500 record at 10-10 overall.  Next up for NJC is another home conference game against rival Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday, October 2nd at 2pm.

Breakdown: NJC made quick work of the Indians in the first two sets, but had to battle it out in the third set to take the match and avoid giving MCC a chance to hang around.  Mayson Fago and Taylor Wiescamp led the way offensively with a combined 20 kills, Helin Halden and Caley Harper each added 7 kills while freshmen Kaytlin Smart and Kelsie Walker combined for 8 kills.  On the defensive front, NJC tallied several digs and blocks for a nice balance that allowed the offense to get into the system quickly for their attacks.  Allie Schumacher and Andie Anderson led the way for assists with a combined 36.  Overall NJC recorded 56 digs, 19 of those were from sophomore Jade Feather.
