Plainswomen Split Road Series

McCook, Neb...

The Plainswomen went to battle against McCook Community College in McCook, Nebraska on Saturday, October 15th. The NJC Volleyball team had a hard time finding their rhythm against MCC as they experienced a devastating four set loss against the Indians. The Plainswomen are now 15-11 overall and 5-2 in conference. The Plainswomen are set to play Casper College on Monday, October 17th.

Breakdown: The NJC Plainswomen experienced a devasting and unexpected loss over the weekend. Heading to McCook, NE to take on the Indians, the Plainswomen were unable to find their rhythm throughout the match. Set 1, the Plainswomen were able to sneak away with the lead, however the Indians took the Plainswomen unexpected performance and were able to run away with the next three sets, ending the match with a home court win for MCC. Offensively, the Plainswomen were led by freshman Annika Helf with 14 kills. Defensively the Plainswomen experienced their best defensive game all season with a total of 78 digs. Grace Yoder led the pack with 20 of her own. The Plainswomen were led by Allie Schumacher in assists with 21.

Casper, Wyo...

The Northeastern Volleyball team faced off against Casper College on Monday, October 17th in Casper, WY. After a devasting loss against the McCook Indians over the weekend, the Plainswomen were able to bounce back and earn a clean three-set sweep over the Casper College Thunderbirds. After the three set win, the Plainswomen are now 16-11 overall. Northeastern is set to play Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, NE on Friday, October 21st.

Breakdown: After a tough loss against the McCook Indians, the Plainswomen were able to bounce back and have a stellar performance against the Casper College Thunderbirds. NJC came out swinging touch and immediately found their rhythm throughout the match. Casper could not find an answer for the Plainswomen offense. The Plainswomen offense was led by Gabbby Oos with 9 kills, with Kaytlin Smart and Annika Helf close behind her with 7 kills of their own. A spread out and stellar performance. The defense was led by freshman Grace Yoder with 12 digs. Allie Schumacher led in assists with 18 and Emma Meyer was close behind her with 15.
