Plainsmen Fall Short To Minot State

NJC baseball made their way to Denver on Wednesday the 9th to battle the Minot State University ball club.  The game took place at a neutral site on the Metro State University campus.  In what was sought to be a tough battle for the Plainsmen playing against a university, Northeastern held their own against a good team, but ultimately fell short losing by 2 in the 9 inning game.  Northeastern makes their way back home for a weekend series with the CSU Club baseball team on Friday and Saturday.  First pitch for the games will be at 3pm on Friday the 11th and the double header on Saturday the 12th will be 12pm and 2:30pm.

(Game Recap 2/9) Plainsmen vs. Minot State University = Loss 15-13

Breakdown: NJC was able to keep the bats hot and also had some solid pitchinig from starter Cole Adams.  Minot got off to a quick start scoing 6 runs in the 1st inning but cooled off until the 7th when they scored 4 runs.  The Plainsmen had a nice big 3rd inning where they were able to tie the game back up with a 4 run inning of their own.  Because of the single game, the game was played in a full 9 inning fashion.  Mason Sauter went 2-4 from the plate recording a double and 3 RBI's.  Jaylan Ruffin and Nick Schumacher both added 2 RBI's each as well in the contest.  Alex Alva had 1 at-bat where he got a triple and knocked in a run.  Cole Adams pitched for 4.1 innings giving up 7 hits, getting 6 strike outs and 2 earned runs.  He moves to 0-1 on the season in the starting rotation.
