Northeastern Golf Fall Season Wraps Up

Northeastern Golf Fall Season Wraps Up

La Junta, Colo...

NJC golf finished up their Fall regular season tournament play this past Thursday and Friday at hosting college Otero.  Northeastern men's golf has been on a streak of third place finishes since taking first place back in September at the Eastern Wyoming tournament.  The two day total for the Plainsmen finished at 595 (300-295) which was 28 strokes behind 2nd place and 37 strokes behind 1st place Eastern Wyoming.  McCook and Eastern Wyoming continue their solid play as they find themselves finishing either 1st or 2nd in the past few tournaments.  As the season nears its end, the Plainsmen will travel to Odessa, Texas in early November for the Fall National Preview tournament to give them some strong competition and an idea of what Spring will look like if NJC can qualify for Nationals.

The Plainswomen golf team was unable to field a complete team for the Otero tournament.  However, the three ladies that were able to play recorded some of their best scores of the season.  The Spring season for the women's golf team will add some excitment as they will have their fourth player join back in tournament play, which will also allow them to qualify for the tournament competitions.
