Northeastern's Bats Were On Fire On Game 1 Of A Double Header Against Northwest Kansas Technical College

Lauren Lee drove in five runs on three hits to lead Northeastern past Northwest Kansas Technical College in Game 1 of the double header 16-2. Lee doubled in the second scoring two, doubled in the third scoring two, and hit a home run to left field in the fourth scoring two. Ryann Eurich hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Northeastern tie the game at one in the bottom of the first inning. The Plainswomen flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on four hits to take a 6-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Lee that drove in two runs. Northeastern scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Savannah Waldrop singled, scoring two runs, Lee doubled, scoring two runs, and Blayke Duncan singled, scoring one run. The Plainswomen added to their lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to home runs by Ayva McComas and Lee. Reagan Fehringer earned the win for Northeastern. The righty allowed seven hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Teagan Kehm tossed one inning of zero-run ball for Northeastern in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking none. Northeastern accumulated 15 hits in the game. Lee, McComas, and Isabelle Bencivenga each collected three hits for Northeastern. Waldrop and Kaylee Eyl each collected multiple hits for the Plainswomen. Northeastern ran wild on the base paths, stealing three bases on the game. The Plainswomen also turned one double play during the game.
