Northeastern Takes Two Victories Away From Northwest Kansas Technical College, Winning Game 2 11-2

Northeastern defeated Northwest Kansas Technical College 11-2 in Game 2 on Monday, thanks in part to a seven run first inning. Kaylee Eyl singled, scoring one run, Lauren Lee doubled, scoring one run, Ryann Eurich singled, scoring one run, Blayke Duncan hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Ayva McComas was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Eyl doubled, scoring two runs. A single by Duncan extended the Northeastern lead to 8-2 in the bottom of the second inning. Northeastern scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on a home run to left field by Savannah Waldrop. Eurich earned the win for the Plainswomen. The righty allowed six hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Northeastern collected 12 hits in the game. Waldrop and Eyl were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs. Isabelle Bencivenga went 3-3 at the plate to lead the Plainswomen in hits. Eurich collected two hits in three at bats. Northeastern had patience at the plate, collecting five walks during the game. The Plainswomen also turned one double play during the game. Northeastern will be back in action again on Thursday 3/21 at Northwest Kansas Technical College.
