Plainsmen Take 2 of 3 At Western Wyoming Duals

This past weekend the Plainsmen wrestling team traveled to Wyoming to compete at the Western Wyoming Community College duals.  Northeastern competed against Western Wyoming, Northwest College and Colby Community College.  After beating rival Otero Junior College (who was ranked #17 nationally) 48-0 the past week, NJC had a tough dual coming up against #3 nationally ranked Western Wyoming and was anxious to see how they would battle a great team.  The Plainsmen came out of the tournament with wins against Northwest College (currently ranked #23 nationally) and Colby College.  On Saturday, December 4th, Northeastern hosts Western Colorado at 4pm in the Bank of Colorado Event Center.

(Dual Recap 11/12) Plainsmen vs. Western Wyoming CC = Loss 51-0

Breakdown: None of the wrestlers were able to get any points against a very challenging Western Wyoming team.  Several players loss by pin falls or major decisions.

125 - Braydon Mogle pins his opponent in the 1st period

174 - Tucker Naccarato battles tough and makes it to 3rd period where he pinned his opponent

197 - Kordell Culhane went 3 rounds with his opponent, was able to win match in a 7-1 decision

285 - Riley Butt again had a dominating performance as he pins opponent in the 1st period

(Dual Recap (11/13) Plainsment vs. Northwest College = Won 54-0

125 - Braydon Mogle pins his opponent again in the 1st period

141 - Deegan Palmer made quick work of his match by pinning his opponent in the 1st period 

149 - Riley Bornhoft went a couple rounds with his opponent before pinning him in the 3rd period

285 - Riley Butt had quite the match with another talented wrestler, but was able to pin him in the 2nd period
