Plainswomen Soccer Moves To 9-2-1 On Season

Northeastern Women's Soccer team has played three consecutive overtime games in two weeks and four total in September.  In their past contest, NJC played Western Wyoming Community College on their home turf on Wednesday, September 22nd.  The Plainswomen came out with wins in the previous two overtime games, however, this match ended in a tie with the Mustangs.  The tie on Wednesday leaves NJC with a 9-2-1 overall season record, and a 4-1-1 record in conference play.  Northeastern has a total of 35 goals this season, which breaks down to be 2.92 goals per game.  The next contest for the Plainswomen is this coming Saturday, October 2nd at 1pm.  They will take on rival Western Nebraska Community College at home.

Breakdown: Both teams were able to get a single goal on the scoreboard before the halfway mark.  Strong defense and limited shot opportunities didn't allow for any second half goals to be scored.  NJC recorded 11 shots on goal and WWCC had 7 shots on goal.  Two penalties occured during the match, both on the Plainswomen, one at 86 minutes and the other at 92 minutes.  Northeastern had a total of 7 corner kicks comapred to just 4 from the Mustangs.
