Caleb Rozier Gets Region IX Player Of The Week

Sterling, Colo...

Northeastern's 6'3" sophomore Caleb Rozier got the Region IX Player of the Week nod as he had a solid 1st week of the season at the plate.  Rozier comes to NJC from Jacksonville, Florida and plays outfield for the Plainsmen.  During the 1st road trip of the 2022 regular season for the Plainsmen, they traveled to Arizona to compete against Pima Community College, Scottsdale Community College and Arizona Western College.

On the trip, Caleb played 4 of the 7 games Northeastern competed in during the 3-day stretch.  In those games, Rozier went to the plate 9 times, got a hit in 5 of those at bats and also drew 2 walks.  Those 5 hits included 3 doubles and 2 singles, one of which knocked in a RBI for the Plainsmen.  On top of the stellar batting, Caleb was able to steal 2 bases as well during the stretch.  Big time batting rewarded Rozier with a .556 batting average, .667 on-base percentage and a whopping .889 slugging percentage.

Northeastern needs players like Rozier to continue the big play as the season progresses to give the team a threat in the lineup in which other teams will have to be aware of.

Congrats to NJC outfielder Caleb Rozier on the Player of the Week for Region IX!  Keep up the great work!

The Plainsmen next take on Minot State College JV on Wednesday, February 9th at 4:30pm
