Nick Anaya Gets Region IX Pitcher of the Week

Northeastern pitcher Nick Anaya got the Region IX Pitcher of the Week nod as he had a solid week of the season from the mound.  Anaya comes to NJC from Denver, Colorado and pitches for the Plainsmen.  During the past week of the 2023 regular season for the Plainsmen, they played four games against Dawson Community College.  This is the first Plainsmen pitcher to receive the Region IX Pitcher of the Week award this season.

During the Dawson CC series, Anaya pitched in his 4th game of the season and solidified his 1st season win.  During his apperance, Nick pitched 3.1 innings and only gave up 4 hits.  He also struck out 5 batters, had 0 walks and 0 earned runs.  Overall this season, Anaya has a 3.24 ERA, 8.1 innings pitched, 9 strikeouts and is 2-0.

Northeastern needs players like Nick to continue the big play as the season progresses to give the team a threat in the pitching lineup in which other teams will have to be aware of.
