Game Recap Plainsmen vs. Lamar CC - 3/4

Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen lost the lead late in a 9-6 defeat to Lamar CC on Saturday. Lamar CC trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Mata singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.  Despite the loss, Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lamar CC had six hits on the way to victory.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen fired up the offense in the second inning. Carter Marlow drew a walk, scoring one run.  #2 was credited with the victory for Lamar CC. The bulldog lasted two innings, allowing four hits and three runs while walking one. #26 threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. #26 recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Lamar CC.

Evan Hurlburt took the loss for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. The pitcher went one inning, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out two and walking zero.  Brian Walters started the game for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen fell 7-2 to Lamar CC on Saturday despite out-hitting them nine to seven.  In the first inning, Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen got their offense started when Max Valerio homered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.  Lamar CC pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Goya hit a solo homer, Rede doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Ledezma homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.  #27 led things off on the pitcher's mound for Lamar CC. The hurler went six innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out ten and walking zero.

Ryan Jones started the game for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen snatched the lead late in the game in a 22-18 victory over Lamar CC on Sunday. The game was tied at 11 with Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen batting in the top of the fifth when Jackson Trout singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.  Josh Cote led Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen to victory by driving in nine runs. Cote went 3-for-5 at the plate. Cote drove in runs on a home run in the fourth, a grand slam in the fifth, and a home run in the sixth.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen took an early lead in the second inning. Ryan Kucy drove in two when Kucy homered.  Lamar CC evened things up at 11 in the bottom of the fourth inning. Peyton homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.  Lamar CC scored six runs in the fourth inning. Lamar CC big bats were led by RedeMata, and Peyton, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.  Hayden Nerwin took the win for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. The hurler went two innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and walking one. Jeffrey Behrends and Noah Soper entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Behrends recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen.

#7 took the loss for Lamar CC. The pitcher lasted one-third of an inning, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out one and walking one.  #19 started the game for Lamar CC. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out one Trent Schumacher started the game for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen. Wynn Drewes drove in six on two hits to lead Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen past Lamar CC 24-13 on Sunday. Drewes drove in runs on a single in the fifth, a grand slam in the sixth, and a walk in the seventh.  Bats blistered as Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen collected 16 hits and Lamar CC tallied ten in the high-scoring game.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen fired up the offense in the first inning, when Josh Cote homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.  Lamar CC evened things up at two in the bottom of the second inning. Ahern was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Max Valerio doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Josh Moore singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Ryan Kucy doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run for Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen.  Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen tallied seven runs in the sixth inning. Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen offense in the inning came from singles by Jackson Trout and Nick Schumacher, a walk by JJ Cardinal, and a home run by Drewes.
