Northeastern goes 2-2 on their first home stand of the season. They are back at home on 2/24 against Dawson Community College

Game 3

Northeastern lost the first game of Monday's double header against Miles Community College 14-7. The Plainsmen jumped out in the third inning after James Nolan singled, scoring one run, and Josh Cote homered to left field to score three runs. The Plainsmen added onto their lead in the fourth inning thanks to two solo shots from James Nolan and Wynn Drewes. The Pioneers hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 7-4. The Pioneers added seven more runs in the top of the seventh to make a final score of 14-7. Noah Soper started the game for the Plainsmen, the starting pitcher gave up one hit and only walked two batters over five innings while also striking out 10 batters. Northeastern tallied nine hits in the game, Drewes, Nolan and Joel Franco each collected two hits. Cote and Nolan each drove in three runs and Franco stole two bases in the contest. The Plainsmen played a very clean game, they ended with 0 errors. 

Game 4

The second game of the double header was a different story from the first, as the Plainsmen won the contest 14-4 in five innings. The Plainsmen started hot in the first inning after Luke Byler singled, scoring one run, Joel Franco singled, scoring two runs, and Harrison Good drew a walk, scoring one run. A single by Good and a ground out by Amar Mahmood helped Northeastern extend their lead early in the third inning. James Nolan homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Plainsmen. Northeastern added five more runs in the bottom fifth on one hit. Cade Owens hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run, Wynn Drewes laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, and only hit in the inning came from Josh Cote, who hit a moon shot to left field, which scored three runs. The Plainsmen earned a run rule victory after scoring 10 more runs than the pioneers after five innings. Edyn Barber earned the win for the Plainsmen. The righty allowed seven hits and four runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none. James Harbison threw one inning of scoreless ball for the Plainsmen. The lefty allowed zero hits, striking out one and allowing no walks. Cote led the way in RBIs for the Plainsmen with three. Ryan Kucy, Good, Nolan, Cote, Byler, and Franco each collected one hit. The Plainsmen walked a total of eight times during the contest. The Plainsmen also stole eight bags during the game. Northeastern once again did not commit an error, and had one double play. 

The Plainsmen will be back in action on Saturday at 12:00 PM against Dawson Community College.
