Northeastern Start Out Sunday Hot Against CSU Club Taking Them Down 11-1

James Nolan collected four hits in four at bats, as Northeastern took down CSU Club 11-1 on Sunday. Nolan hit a home run to left field in the fifth inning, and singled in the second inning. Northeastern captured the lead 4-1 in the bottom of the first when an error scored one run, and Ryan Kucy tripled, scoring three runs. Josh Cote homered to left field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second for the Plainsmen. Northeastern added to their lead in the bottom of the third inning after Amar Mahmood tripled, and Nolan singled, each scoring one run. Nolan homered to left, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth for Northeastern to obtain the 10 run rule after five innings. Cole Jones earned the win for Northeastern, the righty surrendered one hit and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Kelden Hastings and Drew Haferkamp each came on in relief for the Plainsmen. Northeastern amassed 12 hits in the game. Cote provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led Northeastern with four RBIs. Kucy and Mahmood each collected multiple hits for Northeastern. Wynn Drewes and Nolan each stole multiple bases in the contest.
