Northeastern Gets The Series Sweep Over CSU Club On The Weekend After Winning The Final Game 15-5

Northeastern easily dispatched CSU Club 15-5 on Sunday. The Plainsmen took the lead in the bottom of the first 5-1, thanks to home runs by James Nolan, Wynn Drewes, Lane Snow, and James Harbison. Northeastern added to the lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Joel Franco, scoring one run, making the lead 6-1. The Plainsmen added two runs in the third after Kelden Hastings singled. Northeastern scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to center field by Luke Byler. Northeastern scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth. Anthony Porras hit a solo home run to left, Hastings tripled, scoring one run, Snow singled, scoring two runs, and Harbison singled, scoring one run. Cameron Ochoa earned the win for the Plainsmen. The righty gave up one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Creed Martin began the game for Northeastern. The righty gave up two hits and one run over one inning, striking out two and walking none. Evan Gail, Kiichi Sekihara, Matthew Ramstead, and Matt Yarish each came in on relief for the Plainsmen. Northeastern amassed 12 hits in the contest. Drewes, Hastings, Harbison, Snow, and Porras each collected two hits for Northeastern. Hastings and Harbison each drove in three runs. Cade Owens stole three bases. The Plainsmen totaled six stolen bases in the contest. Northeastern will be back in action again on Wednesday March 6th at CSU Pueblo for a two game series.
