Northeastern Baseball Drops Third Game At New Mexico Junior College 11-3

Plainsmen Baseball drops third and final game at New Mexico Junior College 11-3. Hudson Hoy was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Hoy went 2-3 on the day with a double and one run scored. 

Northeastern got on the board in the top of the second inning after Carson Sauter hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Tanner Peerey doubled, scoring two runs. NMJC then went on to score one run in the bottom of the second and third innings. NMJC struck again in the bottom of the fourth inning with four runs and ended the scoring with 5 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. 

Keon Bandy started on the mound for the Plainsmen. Bandy went 2.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits, while striking out one and walking one. Brayden Strok came in for .2 innings, giving up two earned runs and walking two batters. Gavin LaMont ended up taking the loss for the Plainsmen, as he went 2.1 innings, giving up four earned runs on four hits and striking out one batter. Tony Slizowski came in and gave up three earned runs on 0 hits and three walks. Cameron Ochoa ended the game for the Plainsmen, throwing .2 innings, giving up two hits and striking out one batter.

Hoy led the Plainsmen with two hits, Peerey went 1-3 at the plate and drove in 2 RBIs. The Plainsmen will be back in action again on January 31st, at New Mexico Military Institue at 2:00 PM. They will have four games on the weekend, one on the 31st, two on February 1st starting at 12:00 PM and one final game on the 2nd, starting at 12:00 PM.
