
Northeastern Baseball Evens The Four Game Series At A Win a Piece, After Beating Miles 12-7
Northeastern Baseball evens the series with Miles Community College, after winning game two of the four game series 12-7. Michael Clark was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Clark went 2-2 at the plate, hitting one double, one home run, driving in 5 runs and scoring two runs.
Clark hit a grand slam to left field in the second inning and walked in sixth inning, scoring one run. Northeastern flipped the game on it's head in the bottom of the second inning, scoring seven runs on four hits, to take the 7-2 lead. The Plainsmen once again took a big lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring five runs on two hits. Brayden Stufft hit a double that scored three runs in the inning. Brayden Stork earned the win for the Plainsmen. Stork ended the game for Northeastern, coming in for one inning of relief, giving up one hit and striking out two batters. Cameron Ochoa started the game off for the Plainsmen. Ochoa went 4.1 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on three hits, walking four and striking out 6. Matt Yarish came in for 1.2 innings of relief, giving up three earned runs on three hits, walking two and striking out two. The Plainsmen were able to collect 9 hits in the contest. Clark, Zach McVay and Max Valerio each collected two hits in the contest. Brendan Clelland paced Northeastern with three walks, overall the team had a total of 10 walks.
