
Northeastern Baseball Finishes 3-1 Against CSU After Winning The Series Finale 24-3
Northeastern Baseball finished their four game home stand against CSU with a 24-3 victory over the Rams. Hudson Hoy was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Hoy went 2-3 at the plate, hitting one home run, one double, drew one walk, drove in three runs and scored three runs.
The Plainsmen started out hot, as they scored 15 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Hoy homered to left field, scoring two runs, Michael Clark singled, scoring one run, Aniel Del Orbe singled, scoring one run, Andres Johnson singled, scoring two runs, Hoy drew a walk, scoring one run, Brayden Stufft singled, scoring one run, Zach McVay singled, scoring two runs, Tanner Peerey doubled, scoring two runs, Del Orbe singled, scoring two runs and a wild pitch scored one run. Northeastern kept piling on in the bottom of third inning, as they scored 8 more runs. Lewis Coonts singled, scoring two runs, Hoy doubled, scoirng one run, McVay was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, and Anthony Porras hit a grand slam to left field.
Jared Tameling earned the win for the Plainsmen. Tameling started the game and went two innings, giving up one unearned run on four hits and striking out one batter. Jackson Sheehy threw .2 innings, giving up two earned runs on two hits and walked two batters. Korey Koehler threw 1.1 innings, giving up one hit and striking out two batters. Benjamin Coleman finsihed the game for Northeastern, throwing one inning and striking out one batter.
The Plainsmen collected 16 hits in the contest. Stufft led the way with four hits in four at bats. Porras and McVay each drove in four runs in the game. Del Orbe, Coonts and Hoy each collected multiple hits for Northeastern. Coonts and Johnson both stole two bases in the contest. Stufft led the way with three stolen bases.
