
Northeastern Tallies 72 Runs In Two Games Against Hastings As They Win The Second Game Of The Double Header 35-1
Northeastern Baseball kept the bats on fire, as they took down the Hastings Broncos 35-1 in the second game of the double header. Lewis Coonts was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Coonts went 4-6 in the contest, hitting one double, stealing one base, drawing one walk, scoring 6 runs and driving in a total of 8 runs.
The Plainsmen jumped out in front in the top of the first inning after and error scored two runs, Aniel Del Orbe doubled, scoring one run and Hayden Swaen grounded out scoring one run. Northeastern scored 5 runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Coonts singled, scoring one run, Carson Sauter singled, scoring one run, Michael Clark singled, scoring one run, Del Orbe grounded out, scoring one run and Swaen singled, scoring one run. The Plainsmen scored 11 more runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning. Yusei Uzawa singled, scoring one run, Clark hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Del Orbe singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Uzawa was hit by a pitch, driving in one run, Coonts singled, scoring two runs and Sauter homered to right field, scoring three runs.
