
Northeastern Baseball Falls To Lamar Community College on A Walk Off 3-2 on Saturday
Northeastern Baseball lost in a heart breaking walk off to Lamar Community College 3-2 in the first game of the Saturday double header. Gavin Lamont was named the DDC Player of the Game. Lamont threw 6.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on 8 hits, walking two and striking out 7 batters.
It was a pitcher's battle all the way to the end of the game. Lamar was able to rack up 10 strikeouts in the contest and Northeastern was able to sit down 7 batters. The Plainsmen got on the board first in the top of the third inning after Brayden Stufft singled up the middle and Max Valerio grounded out, each scoring one run. Lamar was able to win the game in the bottom of the seventh inning after hitting a two run home run and hitting a walk off single.
Brayden Stork came in and gave up one hit in relief performance. Stufft led Northeastern with one run batted in. Stufft, Harrison Good and Michael Clark each had one hit in the contest. Stufft and Zach McVay each stole multiple bases in the game.
