
Northeastern Baseball Takes Down McCook Community College 8-7 In The First Game of the Sunday Double Header
Northeastern Baseball won the first of four straight games against McCook Community College 8-7 on Sunday. Max Valerio was named the DDC Player of the Game. Valerio went 1-3 at the plate, hitting one double, drawing one walk, drove in two runs and scored two runs.
The Plainsmen took the lead in the top of the third inning after Valerio doubled nad Michael Clark singled to center, each scoring two runs. Gavin Lamon started the game for Northeastern and ended up earning the win. Lamont went 4.1 innings, giving up four earned runs on 6 hits, walking three and striking out four batters. Matt Yarish threw 1.2 innings of relief, giving up three earned runs on three hits, walking two and striking out one batter. Brayden Stork earned the save off of one inning of work, giving up no hits and striking out one batter.
Clarek led the Plainsmen with two hits in four at bats. Harrison Good led the team with two walks. Brayden Stufft stole two bases.
