Plainsmen Lose Close One Against Western Wyoming

Windsor, Colo...

The Northeastern men's basketball team played in the north/south tournament hosted at the Power to Play facility in Windsor this past weekend.  This game was the last for the Plainsmen before going on winter break to end 2021.  Playing Western Wyoming always brings some hype as head coach for Western Wyoming is Steve Soza, who previously was an assistant coach at NJC under Eddie Trenkle.  On January 6th, Northeastern will pick the season back up with a home match against Casper College whom they beat earlier in the season.

(Game Recap 12/11) Plainsmen vs. Western Wyoming College = Loss 69-66

1st Half - Back and forth between the two teams, match was pretty even through end of the first half.

2nd Half - Timely turnovers for NJC cost them some valuable points along with second chance shots.  Final score was 69-66 WWC.

Breakdown: Northeastern did a much better job of controlling their turnovers in this game.  They didn't have problems with scoring and keeping up with WWC, but couldn't win the rebounding battle, which led to a lot of second chance points for the Mustangs.  NJC moves to 4-8 on the season.
