After not playing for nearly a month, the Plainsmen were eager to get back onto the court in front of a home crowd on Saturday.  NJC faced McCook Community College in what would be the first divisional game of many to come in the following weeks.  On Tuesday, January 18th, Northeastern will travel down to Lamar to face the Lopes with a 7:30pm tip-off.

(Game Recap 1/15) Plainsmen vs. McCook Community College = Won 61-59

1st Half - Back and forth between the two teams, match was pretty even through end of the first half.

2nd Half - Good offesive play backed with solid defense.  End of half ended in a tie. 

OT - Lots of timeouts with back and forth play, NJC edges out MCC.  Final Score was in favor of NJC 61-59.

Breakdown: Northeastern did a much better job of controlling their turnovers in this game.  Hard fought game that came down to overtime, NJC took care of business.  Leading scorer for the Plainsmen was Rashon Barron who recorded 16 points.  Jared Adams played solid with a double-double performance that included 11 points and 12 rebounds.  Freshman Obi Agbim put up 10 points in the win.  Overall, NJC shot 35.1% from the field.
