North Platte Squeaks Past Plainsmen

North Platte, Neb...

Both NJC and North Platte have a losing record thus far this season and were looking for a win.  Northeastern was 3-2 in conference play before the game and NPCC was 2-2, which gave the Plainsmen a slight advatage record wise.  Unfortunately for the Plainsmen, they had a lead going into halftime, but was unable to keep the lead throughout the 2nd half and fell short to the Knights.  NJC heads back out on the road this Saturday the 5th against last place McCook Community College and then turns around and plays North Platte CC again at home on Sunday the 6th.  Game time is slated for 1pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.

(Game Recap 2/1) Plainsmen vs. North Platte CC = Loss 67-63

1st Half -  NJC has a strong 1st half outscoring the Knights.  NJC leads at halftime 37-28.

2nd Half - NJC couldn't buy many baskets or make stops when they needed.  NPCC wins 67-63.

Breakdown: Northeastern played well enough to take a 9 point lead going into halftime on the road.  North Platte, like NJC this season, has had some troubles winning games when needed.  However, the Knights found enough in the tank to outscore NJC by 13 in the 2nd half, which was good enough to take the win at home.  Cyler Kane-Johnson led the Plainsmen in scoring with 18.  Obi Agbim and Jared Adams both had double digit performances as well in the loss.  NJC found themselves again shooting over 20+ three-pointers in which they only made 6, good enough for below 30%.  Northeastern put up 15 more shots than NPCC, but couldn't connect on quite a few, leaving them with a field goal percentage under 40.  Each team had 15 turnovers.
