Rival Otero Beats Plainsmen

For the 2nd time this season, conference rival Otero Rattlers have beaten the Plainsmen in a regular season showdown.  Otero who is 20-3 (ranked #25) overall this season has pretty much had their way with NJC in both contests.  Northeastern lost to the Rattlers at the end of January by 16 at home and by 17 on the road last night.  The Plainsmen move on to their next conference challenge this Friday the 11th as they head to Trinidad to play the Trojans who are 10-10 overall this season.  Game time is slated for a 7pm start.  On Saturday the 12th, NJC then plays against the Air Force Prep team on the road at 1pm.

1st Half -  OC has a strong 1st half outscoring the Plainsmen.  OC leads at halftime 41-25.

2nd Half - NJC played with much more composure, but didn't overcome the deficit.  OC wins 74-57.

Breakdown: It was all Otero in the 1st half of the ballgame as they came out with tons of energy in front of a home crowd.  NJC had a very poor shooting night on the road as they only shot 23.1% overall from the field, with lots of missed shots from behind the arc.  Leading the way for NJC was Obi Agbim who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.  Sophomore Axel Henry also had a double digit scoring night as he ended up with 11 points and 4 steals.  It was another game where NJC had several offensive rebounds but couldn't manage to stir up a lot of points of those boards.  Northeastern had 18 turnovers to Otero's 17.
