Plainsmen Compete at Western Wyoming Tournament

(Game Recap 11/3) Plainsmen @ WWCC Tournament vs. Colorado Northwestern CC – NJC Wins 94-65

1^st Half – the Plainsmen took a little time to get the feet under them after traveling 1500 miles in 3 days to play this game, but once they did they jumped all over CNCC. NJC shot the ball well and climbed into CNCC guards forcing 15 TO. NJC shot well again shooting 59 % the first half.

2^nd Half – the Plainsmen came out and didn't take their foot off the gas pedal until late in the game. They were up as much as 44 in the second half. A late barrage of three pointers from CNCC brought the game back to a 20-point game but in the end the Northeastern Plainsmen won by 94-65!

Breakdown: NJC leading scorer was Ryan Payne 15 he was 5-7 from the three-point line, Keylen (KK) Stroter had 11 points off the bench and gave us a boost. Keynion Clark had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. 

(Game Recap 11/4) Plainsmen @ WWCC Tournament vs. Utah State Eastern – NJC Loss 67-76 

1^st Half – the first half was a slug fest seeing Utah State Eastern get out to a 10-point lead. But NJC came back and took the lead in the first half. Behind great defense and timely shooting from Kobe Greene and Ryan Payne. The half time score was 32-35 Utah State Eastern

2^nd Half – the second half again was both teams making runs on the other team. NJC had to battle some key players having fouls and so that affected how the last few min were played. NJC didn't have anyone left to play the front line and gave up some timely rebounds to end up coming short in this game the final was 67-76

(Game Recap 11/4) Plainsmen @ WWCC Tournament vs. College of Southern Nevada – NJC Win 79-71

1^st Half – The plainsmen came out tired and needed to work every possession to go back and forth the first half with Southern Nevada. At the half Southern Nevada had the lead by 2 points 44-42

2^nd half – NJC Came out in the second half and grabbed a quick 6-point lead with some sharp shooting by Kobe Greene and Ryan Payne, the rest of the half was back and forth even though the Plainsmen only lost the lead one time, the Plainsmen worked hard playing their 4 game on the road in 6 days and found a way to close out the game hitting FT and getting some timely buckets.

Breakdown: NJC had another solid performance from Freshmen Ryan Payne with 11 points and some clutch FT at the end, Keynion Clark chipped in another solid contribution with 15 points 8 reb. Sophomore guard Donta Dawson attacked the paint and scored 12 points to help finish out the game. Big man Shaun Riley chipped 9 points and 9 rebounds. FG team % 44.4, 3pt Fg % 55.5, we had 43 rebounds to top College Southern Nevada
