Game Recap 2/4/2023 Plainsmen vs. McCook CC – McCook wins 77-74
1st half – NJC came out hot, Kobe Greene started off 4 for 4 from the three point line and the others helped give NJC a 2 point lead at the half way point .
2nd half – McCook came out and took it to NJC hitting tough shots, NJC fought back and missed a layup with 20 sec to go to take a lead. Then McCook came down and iced the game with some FT.
In the game Kobe Greene started it off hitting 4 in a row from the three point line he ended the night with 12 points. Keynion Clark had 13 points 10 rebounds, Ryan Payne chipped in with 11 points, Daxton Dayley had 10 points but in the end McCook beat NJC 77-74.
Game Recap 2/7/2023 Plainsmen vs. Otero JC – NJC wins 80-75
1st half- NJC came out and established the paint area quickly. Both Shaun Riley and Keynion Clark played tough and dominated inside. NJC was down at the half 28-36.
2nd half- NJC came right out of the locker room and put the ball inside where Shaun Riley went right to work and scored and then Keynion Clark hit a couple of buckets. They continued and scoring picked up from the guards Ryan Payne and Daxton Dayley and the NJC Plainsmen held on for the win.
The post play was steller for NJC as Shaun Riley scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Keynion Clark had 19 points and 4 rebounds, Ryan Payne scored most of his 10 points in the second half and hit some big FT. Daxton Dayley had a great game having 14 points and 3 rebounds. NJC wins 75-80.
Game Recap 2/8/2023 Plainsmen vs. Trinidad – Trinidad wins 78-69
1st half – the forwards for NJC were big in helping NJC almost secure a win vs top seeded Trinidad. Keynion Clark with his hustle scored some huge baskets against Trinidad in the first half, Shaun Riley followed suit and scored until he got into foul trouble and had to sit. Trinidad was up 42-39 at the half.
2nd half- the guard did a great job trying to hold top scorer DeJour Reeves down he averages 22 a game and NJC held him to 10. But in the end Trinidad was a tough opponent and pulled away in last couple of min to win 69-78.
Shaun Riley Scored 10 points and added 4 rebounds, Kobe Greene had 13 points and 4 Rebounds, Donta Dawson had 11 points and 7 rebounds, Keynion Clark had 18 points 4 rebounds but in the end Trinidad proved too much for the Plainsmen. Final Score 78-69.
