Northeastern Wins In Dramatic Fashion With A Late Game Alley Oop To Upend Laramie County In Final Seconds of the Region 9 Crossover Tournament
The last game of the Region 9 Crossover Tournament was nothing less than an instant classic, as the Northeastern Plainsmen take the victory over the Lararmie County Golden Eagles, with an alley oop in the last seconds to finish the game at 87-85. Owen Wright was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Wright was able to pour in a career high 16 points and was the one that caught the alley oop dunk, on a great pass from Keziah Williams to seal the game for the Plainsmen.
Justin Sapoi led the way in scoring for Northeastern, as he dropped in a career high 18 points and was able to gather 12 rebounds for the double-double. Kaamil Domingo was two points shy of a double-double, as he scored 8 points and reeled in 12 rebounds as well. The Plainsmen are 4-10 heading into Christmas break. Though the Plainsmen's record doesn't show much, they are 5 one possesion games away from 9-6. Northeastern is looking forward to getting healed up and getting rest over the holiday break. They will be back in action again on January 8th, as they travel to Torrington, WY, to take on the Eastern Wyoming Lancers.
