
Northeastern Basketball Ends It's Season At Lamar Community College
In a tightly contested Region IX Tournament Play-In Game on March 8, 2025, the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen faced a challenging battle against Lamar Community College, experiencing a narrow defeat with a final score of 87-78.
Ryder McConnell led the Plainsmen with a stellar performance, earning the DDC Player of the Game. He tallied 15 points, three assists, and three steals, including a flawless 9-9 from the free throw line. Supporting the team were Quis Davis, who contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds, and Keziah Williams, who provided 9 points and 5 assists. Uwami Chongo and Brady Greene also made significant contributions with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Coach Trenkle expressed pride in his team's effort throughout the season. In his own words, "We had a really tough fought season all year long. We only lost a handful of games by double digits; we were in every game that we played in. I'm proud of these guys and we will miss all the sophomores."
The Plainsmen conclude their season with a heartfelt farewell to the departing sophomores, maintaining high spirits for the future and the continuing tradition of strong competition.
