Bradon Baxter signs to play at NJC

It was a special evening Monday night for Bradon Baxter and his family. The Sterling Tiger signed his letter of intent to play golf at Northeastern Junior College.

"It means a lot," Baxter said. "I'm becoming an adult. I'm excited to see what my future has in store for me."

During his time at NJC, Baxter plans on studying Wind Technology. Baxter said the Wind Technology program at NJC was a big deciding factor in his decision to attend NJC.

"They have one of the number one wind tech programs in the area," Baxter said. "That was a big reason why I chose NJC."

NJC head coach Vernon Harbart said the way Baxter carried himself on the golf course was a big reason why he pursued him.

"I saw him play at the state tournament," Harbart said. "I followed him for nine holes. I liked his character on the golf course. He didn't give up on his game. He can hit the ball a long way."

Baxter was a three-time state qualifier for the Tigers. Harbart said Baxter's talent and experience will help NJC become more competitive on the course.

"I think he's going to bring a lot to our program," he said. "He's going to be a key player in helping us start competing against these other schools."
