Northeastern Hosts The First Day Of It's Home Region IX Tournament

The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen men's golf team displayed strong performances in their home turf during the Region IX Regular Season Home Tournament at Riverview Golf Course on April 8, 2025. Jake Legg led the Plainsmen, being named the DDC Golfer of the Round with an impressive first round score of 72.

Legg's standout performance set the tone for the Plainsmen, as several other team members also turned in commendable scores. Ryan Ewoniuk showcased his skills with a solid round of 75, closely followed by Seth Morrison and Tyler Miller with scores of 76 and 78, respectively. The team depth was further highlighted by Jackson Norris, Kasen McNeilly, Gage Gibson, Ryder McConnel, and Diego Mondragon who rounded off the scoring lineup with scores ranging from 82 to 89.

This set of collective performances has positioned the Plainsmen well for the continuation of the Region IX Home Tournament, scheduled for the next day at the same location, Riverview Golf Course. With strong momentum and home ground advantage, the Plainsmen are poised to continue their pursuit of excellence in this competitive tournament.
