Northeastern Ends Las Vegas Trip Against College of Southern Idaho

Despite the Plainswomen out hitting the College of Southern Idaho, Northeastern falls in the final game of the Las Vegas trip, 12-6. Addison Steele was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Steele went 2-4, obtaining a double and knocking in two RBIs in the contest.

CSI got on the board in the second inning thanks to a home run, CSI scored one more run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Northeastern then flipped the game on it's head as they scored 5 runs in the top of the fifth inning. The biggest blow in the inning came when Isabelle Bencivenga hit a double after 7 pitch at bat, that drove in two runs. CSI then had it's own turn around, as they scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth, making the game 6-5 in their favor. The Golden Eagles racked up another 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Plainswomen were able to score one more run in the top of the seventh, but couldn't muster any more runs to complete the comeback. 

Reagan Fehringer started the game in the circle for Northeastern. Fehringer went 5 innings, giving up 6 runs (5 earned) on 5 hits, striking out two and walking two. Mackenzie Bowie came in, in the sixth inning and ended up taking the loss for the Plainswomen. Bowie threw one inning, giving up 6 earned runs on 5 hits.

The Plainswomen were able to rack up 12 hits in the contest. Bencivenga and Steele both drove in two runs in the contest. Mikeayla Llamas gathered two hits while going 2-3 at the plate. Northeastern was sure handed in the field, not committing a single error in the contest. Northeastern will be back in action again on January 31st, in Neosho, MO where they play Barton Community College at 12:00 PM.
