Northeastern Softball Falls To Seward County Community College In the First Of A Four Game Series

Northeastern Softball drops the first game of a four game series against Seward County Community College 9-1. Isabelle Bencivenga was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Bencivenga went 1-1 in the game, recording a double and a sacrifice bunt. Bencivenga also displayed strong leadership behind the plate and called a great game for the Plainswomen.

It was a close battle for most of the game, until SCCC erupted with a 6 run sixth inning which helped take the victory away. Ryann Eurich grounded out in the second inning, scoring one run which helped tie the game. Maddie Cline started in the circle for Northeastern. Cline ended up taking the loss, giving up 9 runs (7 earned) on 11 hits, walking two and striking out one. Bencivenga and Maddie Westmoreland each collected one hit in the contest. Eurich led the team with one run batted in.
