
Northeastern Softball Earns A Close 2-1 Victory Over Seward County Community College
Northeastern Softball narrowly escapes with a 2-1 victory over Seward County Community College. Mikeayla Llamas was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Llamas went 2-3 with one double, one run batted in, three put outs and one assist in the contest.
Both teams were strong inside the circle, but Mackenzie Bowie had a little stronger performance. Bowie took the win for the Plainswomen, giving up one earned run on 6 hits, walking 6 and striking out one over 7 innings of work. Northeastern got on the board in the first inning after Tatiana Hunt hit a solo home run to center field. Seward County then tied the game in the bottom of the first. Northeastern then took the lead on the final run of the game in the top of the third after Llamas hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.
Kelsi Jerczewsky, Llamas and Hunt each collected one hit for the Plainswomen. Llamas and Hunt were tough to handle back-to-back, as each one of them drove in one run for Northeastern.
