Northeastern Softball Picks Up It's First Region IX Conference Win Over Lamar Community College 9-4

Northeastern Softball was able to find it's way on to the winning side of things after they took down Lamar Community College 9-4 in the first game of a four game road series. Tatiana Hunt was named the DDC Player of the Game. Hunt went 2-3 at the plate, drawing one walk, hitting a home run, scoring two runs and driving in one run. 

Lamar had a lead of 3-0 after the first three innings. Hunt hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fourth. Northeastern flipped the game on it's head in the top of the fifth inning, scoring 7 runs on 6 hits to take the lead 8-3. The biggest blow in the inning came when Isabelle Bencivenga hit a single following a 9 pitch at bat that drove in three runs. Addison Steele hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the seventh for the Plainswomen. 

Reagan Fehringer started the game in the circle and ended up earning the win. Fehringer went all 7 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on 7 hits, walking none and striking out two batters. Hunt and Ryann Eurich both collected two hits in the contest. Blayke Duncan went 1-3 at the plate and led the Plainswomen with two runs batted in. Northeastern was able to draw four walks and turned one double play in the game.
