
Make It Three In A Row As Northeastern Softball Wins Game Three Against Lamar Community College 16-6
Northeastern Softball gets it's third win in a row as they take down Lamar Community College 16-6 in game three of the four game road series. Blayke Duncan was named the DDC Player of the Game. Duncan went 3-6 at the plate, hitting one triple, one home run, scoring three runs and driving in 5 runs.
Lamar started the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. Northeastern tied the game in the top of third thanks to a single by Mikeayla Llamas and a ground out by Tatiana Hunt. The Runnin' Lopes took the lead back in the bottom of the third, making the score 3-2. Northeastern made the score 5-3 in the top of the fourth inning after Reagan Fehringer doubled, scoring one run and Ryann Eurich singled, scoring two runs. The Plainswomen added 5 more runs in the top of the fifth inning on four hits. Reina Roberts doubled, scoring one run and Blayke Duncan hit a grand slam to left field. The Plainswomen scored 6 runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning. Hunt singled, scoring one run, Kelsi Jurczewsky was struck by a pitch, scoring one run, Roberts singled, scoring two runs, Fehringer doubled, scoring one run and Duncan singled, scoring one run.
Fehringer started in the circle for Northeastern and ended up earning the win. Fehringer went 6.2 innings, giving up 6 runs (5 earned) on 9 hits, walking three and striking out two batters. Ryann Mergelman came in for .1 innings to finish off the game. Northeastern collected 16 hits in the contest. Roberts led the team with four hits in the contest. Jurczewsky, Fehringer, Llamas and Hunt each collected multiple hits for the Plainswomen. Fehringer paced the team with two walks.
