Northeastern Softball Falls To Lamar Community College On The Road, They End Up Winning The Series 3-1

Northeastern Softball fell in the final game of the four game road series to Lamar Community College 7-10 on Sunday. Mackenzie Bowie was named the DDC Player of the Game. Bowie went 2-3 at the plate, hitting one double, scoring one run and driving in three runs. 

The Plainswomen were the first to get on the board in the top of the second inning when Bowie singled, scoring one run. A home run from Lamar gave the Runnin' Lopes a 3-1 lead. Northeastern tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a ground out by Tatiana Hunt and a single by Ryann Eurich. Another home run by Lamar made the score 4-3 in the bottom of the third. The Plainswomen once again took the lead in the top of the fifth, thanks to doubles by Bowie and Isabelle Bencivenga. Lamar then took the ultimate lead 10-7 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Bowie started in the circle for Northeastern and ended up taking the loss. Bowie went 4.2 innings, giving up 10 runs (four earned) on 11 hits, walking three and striking out two batters. Maddie Cline came in and threw 1.1 innings of shut out ball. Northeastern amassed 15 hits in the contest. Bowie led the Plainswomen with three runs batted in. Reina Roberts, Kelsi Jurczewsky, Eurich, Addison Steele and Bowie all collected multiple hits in the contest.
