
Northeastern Softball Splits the Four Game Series With Luna Community College After Dropping Game Four 4-3
Northeastern Softball fell to Luna Community College 4-3 on the final game of the four game road series on Thursday. Blayke Duncan was named the DDC Player of the Game. Duncan went 1-3 at the plate, hitting one double, stole one base, drove in one run and scored two runs.
The Plainswomen opened the scoring in the top of the first after an error scored one run. Northeastern captured the lead again 3-1, in the top of the fifth after Duncan doubled to left field and Tatiana Hunt singled to center, each scoring one run. Mackenzie Bowie started in the circle for Northeastern and ended up taking the loss. Bowie threw 5.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on 6 hits and walked three batters. Ryann Mergelman threw one inning of relief, giving up one earned run on one hit.
