Northeastern Softball Earns Back-To-Back Victories Over North Platte Community College, Winning Game Two 7-3

Northeastern Softball earned back-to-back wins against North Platte Community College Wednesday, winning game two 7-3. Reagan Fehringer was named the DDC Player of the Game. Fehringer came in for relief and ended up earning the win and save. Fehringer threw three innings, giving up two hits and struck out one batter. 

The Plainswomen got on the board first in the top of the first inning after Mickeayla Llamas scored after tagging up and Addison Steele singled to left, each scoring one run. A wild pitch extended the Northeastern lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning. The Knights tied the game at three in the bottom of the fourth inning. In the top of the sixth, Northeastern broke the tie when Reina Roberts grounded out, scoring one run, then a singled by Ryann Mergelman followed to extend the lead to 5-3.

Maddie Cline started the game for Northeastern. Cline went four innings, giving up three earned runs on four hits, walked two batters and struck out four batters. Northeastern collected 11 hits in the game. Isabelle Bencivenga, Kelsi Jurczewsky, Tatiana Hunt and Steele each collected two hits in the contest. Roberts, Bencivenga, Jurczewsky, Hunt, Mergelman and Steele each drove in one run for the Plainswomen.
