Plainswomen Get Back On Track

In their final Region IX conference game, the Plainswomen would play host to the McCook Lady Indians.  The women were victorious last time they played at McCook, but coming back home could have had a different result.  Since the Indians knew what hurt them last time they played, they could adjust their game plan to try to defeat our Plainswomen.  Although it was apparent to what they wanted to do, the Plainswomen kept hammering it down low and hitting outside shots to give them the victory.

The first quarter would start with NJC hitting shots along the perimeter.  But McCook would scratch their way back to eventually take the lead right as time expired.  The second quarter, the Plainswomen had to go to their bread and butter which was establishing themselves in the post.  Between Josi Kurtzer, Taylor Knudson, and Katie Diakhaby, those three would help bring the ladies back and get a 37-32 lead before going into half.

In the second half, it was very clear that the Indians tried to shut down the post by double-teaming from the backside.  But the Plainswomen adjusted very well and were able to grow their lead.  At the end of the third, the Plainswomen would lead by eight, 59-51.  The fourth and final quarter, Northeastern established dominance not only in the post, but with their guards as well.  The entire team played well by distributing the ball to the open person, and would defeat the Indians 81-64.
