Former NJC Player Filippa Goula Earns Spot on Greece U20 Team

Former NJC women's basketball standout player Filippa Goula recently earned a spot on the Greece U20 National Basketball Team.  The club announced the addition of Goula to compete this Summer in the national games as Greece takes on a number of different Eurpoean teams to battle for the top spot in the Championships.  Goula had a stellar career at Northeastern and had a team leading 16.5 points per game, 4.8 assists per game and 2.8 steals per game her sophomore year.  The Ano Liosia, Greece native signed with Saint Francis University women's basketball team on June 28th as she continues her collegiate career and follows her passion for the game.

Goula also participated on the 2021 Greece National Team as well.  In 2021, during the European Championship Division D games, Greece went 4-0 with Filippa averaging 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game.  She appeared in all four of those games to represent her home country.  Goula also had the opportunity to represent her country as a participant on the U16 and U18 Greece teams.

For 2022, Greece will participate in the FIBA U20 European Championship Division B games in Skopje, North Macedonia from July 9th - July 17th.  Group drawings for the championships were held on February 15th, which named Albania, Greece, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine as the participants for Group A.

Northeastern athletic department wishes "Flip" the best as she competes in the National games with her home team and continues making achievements in her basketball career at the next level.
